This is the rareist RD 400 evermade and most RD owners have never heard of it. The bike was a special promotional bike made for the Daytona introduction use of Dunlop tires. This is not a "Daytona Special" which are readily available, but a "Dunlop Special". It also has a Bell original front fender that was NOS yamaha fender but also a special Promotion for Bell Helmets as well. The bike has just over 16,500 miles and has been part of knowledgable collectors' collections , so it is in excellent condition. The bike is fast, fast, fast, with special exhaust system that came with the bike(or ..no chrome headers here. I'm told by the orginal owner that the bike came with the special exhaust and different jetting which was confirmed during a recent overhaul of the carburation. The only flaw is one very small separtation in the seat vinyl but could easily be repaired...it is at a seem. The bike is also missing the right side mirror, buts that it. No airbox, but K and N racing hardsock type....paper element.work perfect. This bike is very rare , with very few numbers ever showing up in the US. Most were kept in Japan, or Europe where they were given to the top dealers only
