Moto Martin Castellet I always take a picture of bikes I'm impressed with. This one more than qualifies. It's a 1985 Moto Martin Castellet, that I saw for sale in London. It used either a Kawasaki 1000 or 1100 engine. It could be bought new one of three ways. Kit one was a full Martin rolling chassis. Kit two was Martin frame to utilise original equipment running gear. Or, kit three was the starter pack to get you on the Martin road. Kit one cost 2499 British pounds, kit two was 1549 pounds, and the starter pack was 999 pounds. You had to order it for either 900/1000 (old type) engine, or 1000/1100 (rubber mounted engine), or if you wanted to use a GPZ1100 fuel injection, or GPZ750/900 Ninja (uniflex only) that'd cost you 100 pounds extra. The British importer was Mocheck Limited of Clapham High Street, London. Sometimes a genius is very close to insane. Unfortunatly for George Martin he went over the edge, and is now incarcerated. Fast bikes will do that to you. Regards, Clive |
